Manufactured Housing: Installers

Get Licensed

All installers of manufactured homes are required to obtain either one or all of three installer licenses.

  • Manufactured Housing Division Installer License (MHD-1) allows an installer to block, level, connect sewer and water, and install permanent or alternative foundations.
  • Manufactured Housing Division Installer License (MHD-2) allows an installer to perform all MHD-1 functions, in addition to working on alternations and modifications on a manufactured home.
  • Manufactured Housing Division Installer License (MHD-3) allows an installer to perform all functions of the MHD-1 and MHD-2 , along with the service and repair of natural gas piping and appliances, change and adjust orifices in a manufactured home prior to connection to L.P. gas, and to service and repair plumbing and electrical systems.
  • The scope of an MHD-3 Y licensee shall be extended to install gas yardlines to manufactured homes upon acquiring an appropriate endorsement from the division.
  • The scope of an MHD-3 E licensee shall be extended to install feeder assemblies from the on-site utility terminal to the manufactured home not to exceed 30 feet. The provisions for obtaining a separate electrical endorsement shall include a minimum of two years in the last 10 years of verifiable experience performing electrical work on manufactured homes or related equipment.
